A room network for mental health

The LocaPsy project

How can local mental health care be better housed? LocaPsy is our way of asking the question: by starting with the walls.

The vision

A practitioner looking for somewhere to practise runs into questions that have nothing to do with their profession: a long lease, a heavy deposit, a keyring to manage, isolation. LocaPsy takes those questions on so that the practitioner has only their consultations to think about.

The model

Flexible renting — from half a day a week to a private room by the month — as a service agreement rather than a sublease. Access is handled from a phone. Locations open close to existing places of care, so that patients need not cross a whole county.

Coordination

Bringing psychologists and psychiatrists into one centre is not a property convenience: it is what lets a patient be referred without being lost on the way, and a case be discussed between two appointments.

The ambition

Montesson is a pilot. If the model holds — if it answers a real need for practitioners and patients — it will be repeated elsewhere. We would rather open one place that works than ten that promise.

A consulting room: a sage-green feature wall with two botanical prints, a light wooden desk with an office chair, a sofa and a green armchair around an oval travertine coffee table, a round jute rug and a potted olive tree.
Furniture and colours chosen for the project. Indicative view, not contractual at this stage.

The furniture, colours and atmosphere in these views are those chosen for the LocaPsy rooms: they illustrate the project's specifications rather than some decor picked at random. They are not contractual at this stage — as the Montesson premises are still being selected, the final volume and layout may differ.
